I found this video to be very helpful and encouraging for those of us chasing after creative endeavors. It's about the "creative gap." For all the fantastical and amazing ideas one can dream up, it is so difficult to get those ideas out of the mind and manifested in the physical universe.  

The last photo shoot that I did was a disaster for me on many levels. Everything fell apart. Since then I've been really discouraged and quit carrying my camera everywhere with me. I experienced my limit, failed and didn't feel like getting back up again. "Look at that amazing sunset and clouds. So what? It's not worth me getting out of the car in the cold to capture it."

I feel encouraged hearing Ira Glass say that of course you have a great taste, that's why you live and dream this. However, it takes awhile to get to the point where you are as good as you know you can be.
