Too many shots to pick from. Death Valley was by far the most interesting place, due to it's natural wonders, that I have ever visited. Went on this trip with fellow photographer and friend Kristen Wood. We made it back from a long trek to the top of a sand dune, but barely... with very burned feet.

Top shot is of Kristen taken by me, bottom shot is the reverse.

It was an amazing trip, if you ever get a chance you should definitely check out Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. It is so vast, like walking amongst huge dinosaurs of rocks. Here's some shots from the trip.

Monument Valley was definitely worth seeing, but in a way it was disappointing. It's a sacred site for the Navajo's so you can't get very close to anything. The Navajo's live there, so dealing with all the rules of where you can and can't go was annoying, plus a pack of wild dogs chased our truck forever before we finally could speed up fast enough to leave them behind. Arches National Park was way better, you could climb on the rocks if you wanted to.

I drove way off road into the Indian Reservation north of Flagstaff last night to take pictures of weird rocks under the stars. I thought it was just me, some bats, and my dog. But when a bullet whistled past me and hit the rocks I was photographing, I knew somebody didn't like me being there. I grabbed my dog, froze, panicked for two minutes, decided that yes I did just hear a bullet, no that wasn't my imagination, grabbed my gear, threw it in to the car, and got the hell out of there.

Really, why? It was too close to be funny. I was in the middle of nowhere, in the desert, not bothering anyone.

My friend said that it was probably an evil skinwalker. I would prefer gun crazy psycho over a skinwalker, thank you very much!

There was no moon last night, so it was DARK!!! I was doing 10-14 minute exposures for each photo... patience. You can see some of the meteors in these shots, they look like white scratches that are going a different way than the stars. It's so incredible to me that the stars shift so quickly, we just can't see them move the way they do.
